My last novel for adult readers was Between Clay and Dust (2012). It is a story about the folly of preferring adherence to ideals over the imperfect humanity of those who have a claim on our love. It took me about ten years to finish and is very close to my heart.

The Story of a Widow (2008) is about the unchangeable essence of humans, and how, despite being long cast in particular moulds, our real selves could emerge to surprise us and others.

The Time of the Termites (2001) It was my first novel and I love it not least for the struggle I underwent to fit in all the things I wished it to contain. Most of the picaresque elements are completely true.
